  Sparks was recommended to my wife and me after a total loss house fire in April, 2014. At first, things were great. I was confident that they understood what a traumatic experience this was, and being a young couple who had just finished remodeling their first home and was weeks away from welcoming our first child, that was the comprehensive relationship we needed from a builder. We had just done a remodel and knew every inch of our house when we lost it on our initial move in day. Sparks assured us they understood the unique nature of disaster restoration. Well, it's nearly 4 years later and they have all but disappeared leaving us with a new home build on an unstable foundation. The stress on my family has been immeasurable. We are strong and have had to fight to not miss out so many special times with our daughter while protecting the nucleus of our marriage. However, we are left a house full of cosmetic issues sitting upon major structural concerns. Many of them date back to the initial walk through in 2014. Even more from the several attempts from Sparks to inadequately remedy major issues via irresponsible bandages. They have refused to get the right professionals involved to address major issues and choose to continue deflecting and wasting time in whatever meetings we could manage to schedule with them. They promised to resolve everything multiple times and multiple times it would be yet another responsibility for my family to track them down after months of no follow through. No structural engineer was ever consulted during our rebuild. Even when some foundational and flooring issues arose, they assigned the framers who were on sight to just patch away and keep building. My home now sits on a v-shaped floor that has the entire house sloped towards the middle. Every peice of upgraded woodwork has cracked from where it was mounted and is covered in a one-coat paint job over a surface that wasn't even cleaned before being painted. Most of the drywall looks like it was prepped in the dark. Many of my light switches were mounted into crumbling drywall. After an attempt to even the floors by Sparks jacking up the middle of my house from underneath, my main hallway is covered in nail heads that popped out after the failed attempt. I could go on and on. It's been hard to describe the feelings of watching what seems like the cheapest help they could find put your home back together, wondering if any professional has any interest in helping you protect your investment. This started with so much work by a simple excited father-to-be who put hard working principles into preparing a place to welcome his daughter into the world who had to face a plain old unfortunate situation with his wife. Promises of a thourough restoration and hospitably comprehensive consultation have ended up in professional irresponsibility. As a self-employed hardworking man, I'm awestruck of how this company can even sleep at night.
